I have one daug giving me two grand-daug and one son giving me two grand-sons. My husband of 21 yrs, my second marriage is 22 yrs older than I. He is 76. He was the Chief of Police and I was the ambulance director. My career ended abruptly on my last ambulance call July 2000. It was a seriously critical patient who had to be a load and go transfer. I had to make several bad lifts. I was a medic for 27 yrs. so I already had some occupational hazzards. This one was my final one. He is a live though but with a bilateral amputee, functioning very well. Me, well, it's been hard searching for a new career. I blew out two vertebrae in my neck. After 2 surgeries, 3 inch plate, boo koo injections, nerve burning and epidural injections and blocks, I really can not do nothing. I have permanent nerve damage. I'm on enough pain meds to stone a horse! So no more cold beer!
My husband is retired now. We manage a subsidized housing complex. So we are still able to assist people. I found this amazing home business that is just as much a blessing in assisting people too. It's not no lotion-potion-soap or pill biz. It's being able to bridge together the gap between the average income and the poor.
